Travel Diary: Paris Day 3

Our plan for day 3 was pretty exhaustive. But the places we visited were so great that we couldn’t rush through and we could complete only 2 out of 7-8 major attractions.

We started with Louvre and saw about 1/3rd of the major attractions in about 3 hours. The museum is huge and the collection is very interesting. However, a major drawback is that most paintings and artefacts have no detailed description in English and so we really could not interpret a lot beyond a point. One saving grace is that they sell books about the collection in all languages at the main lobby. So it’s a good idea to buy a book before hand and carry it with you and consult it when you see something interesting.

So after having spent the the first half in the museum we realised that the weather was pretty bad outside so it was best to take the metro to the next attraction rather than our planned picturesque walk.

On our way to to station we came across the smaller Arc De Triamphe and Palais Royale.

So we took a metro to Champs Elysses and walked up to the main Arc De Triamphe. We shopped like crazy in some pretty big and beautiful shops.

For dinner we went to this amazing French place in Norte Dame. This is where I had the best meat of my life!
